Home Lessons Policies

Please refer to the newsletter for additional Summer Semester 2009 policies.

Missed Lessons

Each student is limited to one make up lesson per semester.

  • Make-up lessons are not cumulative, i.e. if you don't use your make-up the first semester, you can't have two at the end of the second semester.
  • 24 hours notice of a cancellation is required.
  • There are no refunds and no credits for missed lessons.
  • I will not make up multiple lessons missed for play rehearsals, talent shows, sports practice, games, travel, etc.
  • Make-up lessons will be given only at times and dates within the teacher’s normal teaching schedule. The lesson is considered to have been given if the student misses the scheduled make-up lesson.
  • When a conflict is unavoidable, you may be able to trade your lesson with another student during the week. You are responsible for "making the trade” and notifying me of the trade.

Lesson Etiquette

  • All lessons begin and end on-time.
  • Please address any questions or concerns at the beginning of the lesson. I cannot be late for my next appointment. You will receive the same courtesy from the student taking a lesson before you!
  • If there is a topic of discussion needing more than 5 minutes of attention, and you would rather not use your lesson time to discuss, please call me anytime. If I am unable to answer, please leave a message, I will call you back and you will have my undivided attention.
  • All telephone ringers, TV’s, computers, video games etc that are within hearing distance of the lesson location MUST be turned off or muted during the lesson. I will not compete for your child’s 100% focus and attention.
