Missed Lessons Policy
Each student is limited to one make up lesson per semester.
· Make-up lessons are not cumulative, i.e. if you don't use your make-up
the first semester, you can't have two at the end of the second
semester.
· 24 hours notice of a cancellation is required.
· There are no refunds and no credits for missed lessons.
· I will not make up multiple lessons missed for play rehearsals, talent
shows, sports practice, games, travel, etc.
· Make-up lessons will be given only at times and dates within the
teacher’s normal teaching schedule. The lesson is considered to have
been given if the student misses the scheduled make-up lesson for ANY
reason. There are no refunds for missed lessons.
· When a conflict is unavoidable, you may be able to trade your lesson
with another student during the week. If you are not interested in this
program please let me know and I will make sure your information is not
included the Lesson Trading Program. You are responsible for "making
the trade” and notifying Alys of the trade.
At the Studio
Parking
· If there is a car in the driveway, please park your car at the top of
the cul-de-sac.
· Please keep the approach to ALL mailboxes clear.
· Only 1 car, associated with private lessons, is allowed on the
premises at
a time.
· If you arrive early please wait in your car at the top of the
cul-de-sac. I
am only allowed one student on the property at a time.
· Please wait until the student taking a lesson before you exits, then
you
may drop your child off, or park in the driveway and come in.
· If you approach the house and realize a lesson is in session, please
wait patiently outside. I will make every effort to begin and end
lessons on time.
Please do not open the door, knock or ring the doorbell when a
lesson is in progress.
Please do not bring any food or drink.
During your child’s lesson:
· You are more than welcome to wait in the designated waiting area.
Because I am teaching from home, I have limited space to provide a
waiting room.
· Out of respect for others living in the house, I cannot offer my
living room or dining room as a waiting area.
· If you do choose to park and come inside, please park your car in the
driveway or at the top of the cul-de-sac.
For parents who wait inside during their child’s lesson:
· Zoning laws will not allow more then 2 people to wait inside at one
time.
·
If a sibling is present in the waiting area, they must remain
quiet during the lesson time. If there is too much noise or distraction
I will ask that you wait outside.
In-Home Lesson Etiquette
·
All lessons begin and end on-time.
·
Please address any questions or concerns at the beginning
of the lesson. I cannot be late for my next appointment. You will
receive the same courtesy from the student taking a lesson before you!
·
If there is a topic of discussion needing more than 5
minutes of attention please call me anytime. If I am unable to answer,
please leave a message, I will call you back and you will have my
undivided attention.
·
All telephone ringers, TV’s, computers, video games etc
that are within hearing distance of the lesson location MUST be turned
off or muted during the lesson. I will not compete for your child’s 100%
focus and attention.
The above policies are put into play to assure a very
smooth operation and to see that everyone is treated fairly and
respectfully. If you have any questions, please
contact me for further discussion.
